Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Wednesday JFK Blvd. Crash In Jersey City

THIS STORY CONTAINS NEW INFORMATION                                                                                                                                                                                             The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has released additional information on yesterday afternoon’s vehicular crash on JF Kennedy Blvd. in Jersey City in which a pedestrian suffered serious injuries.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a crash that seriously injured a 67-year-old woman in Jersey City on Wednesday, February 23.

Suarez says at approximately 1:48 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck near the intersection at John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Montgomery Street. Responding officers found a 67-year-old woman with a serious injury to a lower extremity. A preliminary investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit determined the woman was crossing between two stopped vehicles when the rear vehicle accelerated and struck her.

The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene. The 67-year-old woman was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center. As of Thursday morning, she is in stable condition.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this incident.
