Hudson County Corrections Officer From Bayonne Charged With Forging Medical Records

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced that on Wednesday, April 13, a Hudson County Correctional Police Officer was arrested on charges relating to falsified medical records he submitted to his employer.

34-year old Marko Nakhla of Bayonne, is charged with one count of forgery, a crime of the fourth degree.  He was arrested without incident at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and released on a summons.  Nakhla is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

According to Suarez, the investigation revealed Nakhla submitted falsified medical records to his employer to receive additional paid medical leave.  Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Public Integrity Unit with the arrest and investigation.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
