Over Two Kilos of Cocaine, Firearms, and High-Capacity Magazines Seized in West New York Narcotics Bust

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, along with the United States Postal Inspection Service and the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General, have successfully conducted a months-long narcotics investigation in West New York, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of over two kilograms of cocaine, firearms, and high-capacity magazines.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Rowaldi Caceres, 39, and Hilda Membreno, 29, both of West New York, were charged with multiple crimes including Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon While Committing a CDS Offense, Money Laundering, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On February 26, 2023, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force executed a court-authorized search warrant of an apartment shared by Caceres and Membreno. The search resulted in the recovery of more than one kilogram of cocaine, a handgun, three large capacity magazines, and approximately $30,000 in suspected proceeds from narcotics transactions. The suspects were arrested at the scene.

The following day, a court-authorized search warrant of Caceres’ car was executed, leading to the recovery of a handgun with hollow point bullets. Over two kilograms of cocaine were seized during the course of the investigation.

Prosecutor Suarez commended the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General for their dedication to this investigation. The suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
