Judge Velasquez makes history as the first woman and Latina judge ever appointed to the bench in East Newark. She previously served as the borough’s Municipal Prosecutor. Mayor Dina Grilo stated in a Facebook post this afternoon, “I am so excited that she will continue her leadership in the borough.”
