Union City Honors Honduran Culture With Flag Raising Event

On a crisp Friday afternoon, Palisades Plaza in Union City burst into vibrant colors and jubilation as the city came together to honor its Honduran community. Brian P. Stack, flanked by his dedicated team, orchestrated a remarkable Honduran Flag Raising Event at the crossroads of 38th Street and Palisade Avenue, expressing profound gratitude to the Honduran population.

This event served as a poignant reminder of Union City’s unwavering dedication to acknowledging and commemorating the rich tapestry of cultures that define its unique character.  Stack, a beloved figure in Union City, spared no effort in ensuring that this tribute was both significant and memorable.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance was Fanny Cedeno, the county commissioner of Union City and a representative of District Six. Also present was Idalia Genao, a member of the Mayor’s team. Officer Michael Flores, a distinguished member of Union City’s police force with Honduran roots, joined the gathering to lend his support.

Officer Flores received special recognition during the event for his exceptional contributions to the community, further strengthening the enduring bond between the police force and the residents they diligently serve.  Zoila Lozano was also honored during the event.

Union City boasts a longstanding tradition of honoring and celebrating its Hispanic community, with a particular focus on the Honduran population. Events like the Honduran Flag Raising Event underscore the city’s commitment to nurturing a close and harmonious relationship with its diverse citizens.
