Secaucus Police Crack Down on Vehicle Break-ins, Shoplifting, and Warrant Offenders in a Busy Week

Secaucus, NJ – In a significant clampdown on local crime, the Secaucus Police Department made several arrests over the past week, addressing a series of vehicle break-ins, shoplifting incidents, and outstanding warrants.

On October 30th, Ehasan Hoque, 21, of Jersey City, was apprehended for tampering with public records during a traffic stop. Hoque faced additional motor vehicle summonses before being released.

The police’s proactive approach continued as they resolved an investigation into ten vehicle break-ins, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old from Jersey City on November 3rd. The juvenile was charged with multiple counts of conspiracy to commit burglary and theft before being released to a guardian.

The following day, a routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of 69-year-old Albert Rentas from North Bergen for two outstanding warrants. Rentas was subsequently transferred into the custody of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office.

On November 4th, a shoplifting report at Walmart led to the arrest of four Newark men: Felipe DazaAravena, Alejandro Mesias, Camilo Retamales-Perez, and Cain Pino-Castillo, all charged with shoplifting and conspiracy.

Early on November 5th, Leonel Romero Del Rosario of the Bronx was detained for outstanding warrants during a traffic stop. He was later handed over to the Woodbridge Police Department.

That same day, Jonathan Perocier of Fort Lee and Ishmael Morean of Hamilton were arrested for theft of pallets behind Sam’s Club. Hours later, Christian Aviles-Mejia of Jersey City was charged with DWI after being found in a stationary vehicle.

The week concluded with the arrest of Juan Garcia of Jersey City on the evening of November 5th for outstanding warrants, although he was released after posting bail.

These incidents underscore the Secaucus Police Department’s commitment to maintaining law and order. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
