Club Activities Thrive At UCHS

Extra curricular activities greatly enhance a student’s high school experience.  That’s why it was not unusual to see so many Union City High School students attend Thursday’s annual, club fair.

Approximately 25 different clubs were recruiting students in the high school cafeteria, everything from the chess club to the marching band; from the Italian club to the fashion club; from the student council to HOSA.  There was something for everyone’s taste and interests.

District Performing Arts Supervisor Cristen Pennello has been in charge of organizing the fair for the past five years.  She says the clubs provide great ways for the students to meet fellow Soaring Eagles and look very good on college applications.

She organizes two club fairs every school year; one at the beginning of school and a second one in the spring.

By the amount of students attending the event on Thursday, school spirit was certainly abundant.  It’s going to be a tremendous year for Union City High School as the diverse clubs will provide the student body with enjoyment and excitement.
