Terroristic Threats and Burglary Investigation Lead to Three Arrests

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced that members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internal Affairs Unit arrested three men on July 18th following an investigation into terroristic threats and burglary.

45-year old Mario Albero is charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, the weapon being a baseball bat, burglary and unlawful possession of a weapon (the baseball bat).   28-year old Adrian Tejada and 41-year old Robert Nunez are each charged with three counts of terroristic threats in and burglary.

According to Prosecutor Suarez, the three defendants were arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and released pending their first court appearance.  Two of the men arrested, Tejada and Nunez, are Jersey City police officers and were off-duty at the time the crimes occurred.

The investigation, according to Suarez, found that on Sunday, January 28, 2024, the defendants entered a private structure on Zabriskie Street in Jersey City and threatened to harm multiple individuals.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the HCPO Internal Affairs Unit and the Jersey City Police Department Internal Affairs Unit with the investigation and arrests. The charges against the three are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
