Sunday Bayonne Hit-And-Run Critically Injures Male Pedestrian

A Bayonne man was critically injured in a hit-and-run in Bayonne on Sunday morning, October 13, 2024.  According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Bayonne Police Department are investigating the incident that critically injured the pedestrian.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the accident took place at approximately 12:20 a.m.   The Bayonne Police Department was notified that a pedestrian had been struck in the area of Route 440 and 22nd Street.  When police arrived, they found a male victim, later identified as a 25-year-old Bayonne resident, with life-threatening injuries.  Suarez says the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene and the male was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
