Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez this afternoon announced some disturbing news involving a sexual assault.
On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Suarez says a New York man was arrested after the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit investigated a report of a female juvenile being sexually assaulted in Jersey City.
18-year old Sergio Lokhanova-Flores has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, a crime of the first degree, plus endangering the welfare of a child, a crime of the third degree. The suspect was arrested in Brooklyn, New York, and is being detained pending his extradition to New Jersey.
A press release from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office states, “The investigation found the victim met the defendant online in February 2024. The crimes occurred on various dates between March and July 2024 when the victim was 11 and 12 years old.”
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit with the investigation, with assistance by the New York City Police Department during the arrest.

The charges against Lokhanova-Flores are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
