The Colin Powell School was filled with hundreds of happy seniors on Saturday, as Union City sponsored a Christmas luncheon courtesy of Mayor Brian Stack and the Board of Commissioners.
The annual event was catered by Juana’s, located at 28th Street and Summit Avenue.
The hot meal, which was served by members of the Union City High School Junior ROTC, featured pernil, ham, rice, yucca and desert. There was music and dancing, and of course a visit from Santa, which the seniors thoroughly enjoyed, taking plenty of pictures with ‘Ole Saint Nick.
The Christmas luncheon was one of many events the city’s Senior Affairs Department holds throughout the year for its senior population.
