UPDATE: ACCORDING TO THE HUDSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE, A PERSON OF INTEREST IN THIS CASE IS IN CUSTODY AS OF 10am ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2025. MORE INFORMATION IS PENDING. According to information released by Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, a sexual assault that occurred shortly before 7 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2025 in Jersey City is under investigation by the Jersey City Police Department and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.
A press release from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office states, “the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a home invasion at a private residence on McAdoo Avenue. Responding officers located a female victim who reported an unknown male entered her residence through a window before physically and sexually assaulting her. The female victim is being treated at a local hospital for multiple injuries.”
Prosecutor Suarez adds that no arrests have been made as of 12:45 pm this afternoon. The case is actively being investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.
