The City of Hoboken and the North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA) today announced that Newark Street and Jefferson Street are scheduled to reopen at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, following significant upgrades to the combined sewer infrastructure at the intersection of Henderson Street and Observer Highway. NHSA discovered and replaced an existing wooden box culvert with a modern pre-cast concrete culvert structure and installed new pre-cast concrete sewer manholes. This will not only increase capacity within the system but also help mitigate flooding in the area.
