A one-alarm, residential fire in Bayonne on Sunday afternoon resulted in minimal damage and no injuries.  The blaze at 1171 Kennedy Boulevard began shortly before 3:30 pm.

According to Fire Chief Keith Weaver, “At 3:26pm today, BFD was dispatched to 1171 JFK Blvd on a report of smoke coming from the walls. Arriving companies found fire in the bathroom of a first floor apartment in the multi-unit two-story building. Firefighters used a hand line to extinguish the blaze, which was brought under control at 3:54pm.

All occupants of the fire building and adjoining buildings were safely evacuated during operations and all residents were allowed to return. No injuries were reported. A fire investigation is an underway, however, the fire appears to be accidental in nature at this time.”
