Collision Unit Continues Investigation Into Monday’s Jersey City Hit-And-Run That Critically Injures Pedestrian

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are continuing to investigate  a hit-and-run collision in Jersey City that critically injured a pedestrian on Monday, April 7, 2025.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the incident happened shortly before 1:30 a.m.   The Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Bay and Erie streets.  Suarez says responding police officers found a male victim — later identified as a 37-year-old Jersey City resident — with serious injuries. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.

The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he remains in stable condition.

The circumstances of the collision are being investigated by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
