Nearly 700 West New York senior citizens were treated to a Mother’s Day luncheon at The Graycliff in Moonachie on Friday afternoon. The gala was sponsored by the town’s Office of Senior Affairs, Mayor Albio Sires and the Board of Commissioners.
The event has become a yearly tradition for West New York, and the seniors certainly had a good time meeting with neighbors, enjoying a wonderful meal and listening to music.

The gala turned into a mini-campaign event of sorts, with Hudson County Sheriff’s candidate Jimmy Davis, Bayonne’s Mayor, and 33rd District Democratic Assembly candidates, incumbent Gabriel Rodriguez and Larry Wainstein in attendance.
All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon for the seniors, who learned from Mayor Sires that the town’s Senior Affairs Office will be sponsoring an Atlantic City trip on June 5th. If interested, you need to register by contacting the Seniors’ office.
