6th graders at the Sara Gilmore Academy in Union City brought Hispanic Heritage Month to life with a living museum, researching historic figures and explaining their achievements for fellow classmates and their parents.
In all, 52 students took part in Friday’s academic exercise, a wonderful cross-curricular activity as described by school principal Susana Rojas.

The students portrayed a number of figures, everything from scientists, to judges, to sports personalities, to actors. Parents were invited to attend the event, and many did so, admiring the students’ work.
This was the third consecutive year the Sara Gilmore Academy’s 6th graders took part in the project as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
