Congratulations go out to the North Bergen High School Marching Band on winning a state championship, earning first place at the Tournament of Bands New Jersey State Championship this past weekend.   Their victory comes just one week after taking the top spot at the Chapter 10 Championships with the highest score in school history.  The band surpassed that record at the state level, posting the highest overall score of any band in the competition and capturing additional awards for Best Overall Visual, Best Music, and Best Percussion.

With these victories in their pocket, the NBHS Marching Band now heads into the Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championships.   That competition will be held on Saturday, November 2 at 1:15 p.m. at Hershey Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania, as the top-seeded band in their division.

In a press release, North Bergen High School Principal Richard Locricchio stated, “I couldn’t be prouder of our marching band students and staff.  Their hard work, commitment, and teamwork have earned them statewide recognition and brought tremendous pride to our school district and community. This is an incredible achievement that showcases the power of dedication and passion for the arts.”

“Our students continue to push themselves creatively and technically, and our music department faculty deserves enormous credit for inspiring and guiding them to success. The level of excellence this band has achieved is extraordinary,” added Superintendent of Schools Dr. George Solter.

For anyone interested in attending the national championships, information and tickets are available through the North Bergen High School Music Department.
