As the nation commemorates the 250th Anniversary of American Independence, the Township of North Bergen invites residents, businesses, schools, and community organizations to join together in marking this once-in-a-generation milestone by proudly displaying a commemorative America 250 poster. Included in the Township’s annual summer mailer is a special poster honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary, offering the entire community a visible way to participate in the historic celebration. Residents are encouraged to tape the poster to a front window or display it prominently in their homes, businesses, offices, and storefronts so that neighborhoods throughout North Bergen can visibly join together in celebrating this historic anniversary. Whether hung in a home, displayed in a business, or featured in a community space, the poster offers a simple but meaningful way to commemorate 250 years of American history.
“America’s 250th anniversary gives us the opportunity to reflect on our shared history and celebrate the values that unite us as a nation,” said Commissioner Hugo Cabrera. “We hope residents across North Bergen will join us in commemorating this historic occasion by proudly displaying the poster in their windows and taking part in the many traditions that make our community such a special place to live.”
The 250th Anniversary of American Independence, officially known as America250, marks the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Communities throughout the country are observing the occasion with special programs, tributes, and events that recognize the nation’s past while looking ahead to its future.
