Bayonne Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti this morning has informed Hudson County Clerk Junior Maldonado that he will not seek re-election to the New Jersey Assembly’s 31st Legislative District in the upcoming June Democratic Primary.
The three term Assemblyman did not receive the support of Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis for re-election, ultimately leading the Hudson County Democratic Organization to throw its support behind William B. Sampson IV for the Assembly seat. Chiaravalloti, who previously had the backing and support of Mayor Davis, told Hudson TV reporter Jeff Henig in an exclusive interview, that he was never given a reason for Davis’ and the HCDO’s decision.
During the candid interview with Hudson TV, the Assemblyman highlights his legislative accomplishments and discusses his future plans once his Assembly term comes to an end at the end of this year.
