Bayonne Holds Ceremony For Polish Constitution Day
Members of Bayonne’s Polish community joined elected officials for a flag-raising ceremony in honor of the Polish Constitution Day today. The Polish Constitution of May 3, 1791 was the first written constitution in Europe and the second one in the world. That constitution included democratic reforms to secure and guarantee civil and religious rights for all Polish citizens and social classes.
Among the officials at the event were Mayor Jimmy Davis, City Council President Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski, Councilman At-Large Juan Perez, First Ward Councilman Neil Carroll III, Second Ward Councilman Sal Gullace, Third Ward Councilman Gary LaPelusa, and County Commissioner Kenneth Kopacz.
