More than a week after suffering a severe industrial accident, Bayonne’s Second Ward Councilman Sal Gullace remains hospitalized at University Hospital in Newark.
Gullace, who is employed by the Hudson County Improvement Authority (HCIA), was injured at Advance Environmental Recycling Inc. in Newark when a truck operated by Direct Waste Services struck his leg as he was performing his duties as a solid waste facility contract monitor.
While his injuries are not life-threatening, Gullace has undergone several operations since the industrial accident occurred a week ago Friday morning.
Gullace has represented Bayonne’s Second Ward for the past six years.
