Bayonne Director of Municipal Services Voluntarily Resigns Amid Unspecified Allegations

Tim Boyle, Bayonne’s Director of Municipal Services, voluntarily resigned this afternoon amid unspecified allegations.

Mayor Jimmy Davis issued the following statement:

“This morning, I was made aware of certain allegations regarding actions of the Director of Municipal Services.  Upon learning of this matter, I called for the resignation of the Director of Municipal Services.

Earlier today, the Director of Municipal Services tendered his voluntary resignation effective immediately, and I accepted same.  Insofar as this is an ongoing personnel matter, there will be no further comment at this time.  This situation will not affect the City’s ability to respond to the needs of our community.”

Earlier this year, Bayonne Business Administrator Melissa Mathews’ filed a lawsuit in Hudson County Superior Court against the city.  That suit focused on alleged behavior by Director Boyle and Assistant Business Administrator Mark Bonamo. In the lawsuit, Mathews alleges that she was discriminated against because of her gender.
