Bayonne Honors Two Young Men Who Rescued Man Who Drove Into Newark Bay

On Friday at Bayonne City Hall, Mayor Jimmy Davis, members of the City Council, Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti,  Freeholder Kenneth Kopacz, plus members of the City’s Police and Fire Department honored two young men for their heroic actions in saving the life of a man who drove his car into the waters of Newark Bay behind Bayonne High School a little over a week ago.

Marcelino Cruz and Anthony Capuano received proclamations from Assemblyman Nick Chiaravalloti, BPD Chief Rob Geisler, BFD Chief Keith Weaver, and myself. Joining me for today’s event were: Freeholder Ken Kopacz, Councilmen Juan Perez and Neil Carroll, Director Robert Kubert, Chief Weaver, and Deputy Police Chief Joe Scerbo.
