Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the City of Bayonne has launched a video that promotes Coronavirus vaccinations.  The video also demonstrates the process for residents who receive the vaccination at Bayonne High School’s Rich Korpi Ice Rink.  Mayor Davis said, “It is vitally important for a large majority of our population to get vaccinated, in order to end the Coronavirus crisis.  We made the video to encourage vaccination and to show that the process is simple and convenient.”

In the video, Mayor Davis and City Health Officer Michele O’Reilly are shown discussing the importance of vaccination.  Five City of Bayonne officials take part in the video to endorse the vaccine in various languages: City Council Member At-Large Juan Perez in Spanish; Land Use Administrator Alicia Losonczy in Polish; Assistant Comptroller Demyana Youssef in Arabic; Retiree Benefits Coordinator Camille Burgos in Tagalog; and Accounts Payable Clerk Alexander Schenk in German.  In different languages, they all say, “For you, for me, and for the City of Bayonne, vaccinate.”

The video follows various people going through the steps of the vaccination process at the Ice Rink.  They include Recreation Supervisor Pete Amadeo, Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF) Executive Director Samantha Howard, and Mayor Davis’s parents, James and Catherine Davis.

The video is available for viewing on the City of Bayonne’s website, BAY-TV (Channel 78 on Optimum and Channel 42 on Verizon Fios), and various social media.  It can also be seen by going to this website:

The City of Bayonne worked on the video with Bespoke Health, the vaccination contractor, which brought in a video team to do the production at City Hall and the Korpi Ice Rink.
