Bayonne Man Arrested For Grabbing Woman’s Buttocks

The Bayonne Police Department has announced the arrest of 22-year old, city resident, Tariq G. Baker, a registered sex offender, for approaching a woman and grabbing her buttocks.

According to Sgt. Eric Dundas, the incident took place on July 8th at approximately 3:07 pm near East 50th Street.  Baker, a Pamrapo Court resident, fled the scene on foot following the incident.  Police who responded to a 911 call made by the female victim, apprehended Baker a short time later.

Bayonne Police say Baker also provided officers with false pedigree information.  During processing, it was discovered that Baker failed to notify Law Enforcement of his change of address per Megan’s Law statutes. It should be noted that Baker is known to wear prescription glasses.

Baker is charged with hindering apprehension, criminal sexual contact and failure to notify law enforcement of an address change, as per Megan’s Law.
