On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, members of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit arrested a Bayonne man for his role in a hit-and-run that took place in Jersey City on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, 23-year old Adrian Perez has been charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury, a crime of the third degree and endangering an injured victim , a crime of the third degree. Perez was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance. Suarez says Perez was charged on a direct indictment by a Hudson County Grand Jury.
According to a press release from the Prosecutor’s Office, “Shortly after 2:33 p.m. on October 26, 2023, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Barbara Place and Grand Street. Responding officers located a 37- year-old female victim with multiple serious injuries. The striking vehicle, later identified as a Chevrolet Suburban being operated by Perez, did not remain at the scene.”
The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
