Bayonne Man Wanted on 34 Outstanding Warrants Nabbed By Police for Aggravated Assault & Weapons Possession

A 26-year old Bayonne man, wanted on 34 outstanding warrants issued in Bayonne, Hoboken and Jersey City, was arrested on Saturday night by officers from the Bayonne Police Department on illegal weapons possession and aggravated assault charges.

According to Captain Eric Amato, Jarrett R. Bell, a Lexington Avenue resident, was taken into custody in the area of the Bayonne Medical Center at 9:41 p.m. after officers responded to the area of West 1st Street on a report of a panic alarm sounding. Upon arrival, police found a 26-year old victim with a laceration to his neck.

The victim told police that during an altercation with Bell over a personal matter, Bell stabbed him and fled the scene.  The victim was taken to the Bayonne Medical Center for treatment.  That’s when police observed a male outside of the hospital matching Bell’s description.

Police learned that Bell had been treated for a laceration to his finger and forearm. Police conducted an investigation which determined Bell was the man wanted in the stabbing altercation.

During the arrest process police discovered Bell was wanted on the outstanding warrants.

Bell was taken to the Hudson County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon, was well as the 34 outstanding warrants.
