Alcalde de Bayona Davis apoya a Sampson IV como candidato a la Asamblea del Distrito 31 de la HCDO reemplazando a Chiaravalloti

Facebook Photo                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis has handpicked a new candidate to represent the 31st District in the New Jersey General Assembly.  During this June’s Democratic Primary Election, the Hudson County Democratic Organization candidate on the ballot will be William B. Sampson IV, a crane operator for Global Container Terminal, and a member of the International Longshoreman’s Association, Local 1588, and not incumbent Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti.  The move has the endorsement of HCDO Chairwoman Amy DeGise.

Mayor Davis informed the incumbent Assemblyman last month that he would not be supporting him for the HCDO nomination.  Davis has not stated why he is not supporting the Majority Whip for re-election.  For his part, Assemblyman Chiaravalloti has not discussed the issue publicly either, but it seems likely he will try to retain his seat, as he is holding a virtual fundraiser tonight.

“E^st muy feliz y extremadamente privilegiado de presentar a William B. Sampson IV como nuestro candidato a la Asamblea Estatal en el Distrito 31 en las elecciones de este año”, dijo el alcalde Davis, “y estoy ansioso por hacer campaña con Will y trabajar con él para hacer que tanto Baiona como el condado de Hudson sean lo mejor que puedan ser”.
