Bayonne Police Arrest 17-Year Old Gang Member Carrying Two, Loaded Firearms

Bayonne Police Captain Eric Amato has announced that police have arrested an armed,  juvenile gang member from Brooklyn.  According to Amato, the 17-year old male was taken into custody on Friday afternoon at 4:14 near the intersection of 25th Street and Avenue C.

Officers on patrol noticed the juvenile, a known gang member, acting in a suspicious manner.   After approaching the juvenile, a brief physical altercation took place which led to the discovery of two firearms on the juvenile’s person.  Both of the weapons were loaded with hollow point ammunition. 

The teenager faces the following charges according to Captain Amato:

    * Obstructing administration of law

    * Resisting Arrest

    * Prohibited Weapons and Devices (2 Counts)

    * Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (2 Counts)

    * Possession of a Handgun (2 Counts)
