51-year old, Frederick Williams of Avenue C in Bayonne was arrested by Bayonne Police on Monday night for driving while intoxicated and drug possession. According to Police Captain Eric Amato, it turns out Williams was a fugitive from justice.
Amato says Williams was taken into custody at 11:33 Monday night from the area of 9th Street and Avenue C for D.W.I. A search incident to his arrest led to the recovery of heroin and narcotic paraphernalia. During the investigation, Williams also refused to exit the vehicle he was operating, thus obstructing a governmental function.
While he was being processed, Williams was also found to be wanted on an arrest warrant issued out of Baltimore, Maryland with full extradition.
He is charged with D.W.I., Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (heroin), Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia, Obstructing a Governmental Function and being a Fugitive from Justice.
