Bayonne Police Department Holds Promotion Ceremony

On Thursday, September 27, the Bayonne Police Department held a promotion ceremony for thirteen officers.   The promoted officers included one new Deputy Chief, one new Captain, two new Lieutenants, and nine Sergeants.

Deputy Chief Robert Schork was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 1994.  During his time with the Police Department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, the Community Oriented Policing Division, and served as the department’s School Safety Coordinator as commander of the Cops in School Unit.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 2002, to Lieutenant in 2005, and Captain in 2007.  Deputy Chief Schork is the recipient of three Excellent Police Service Awards, two Commendations, and one Meritorious Police Service Award.  He served four years in the United States Marine Corps, including active duty during Operation Desert Storm, stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. He earned an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from New Jersey City University, and two master’s degrees, one in Criminal Justice from New Jersey City University and one in Human Resource Training from Seton Hall University.

Captain Robert Wierzbicki was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 1995.  During his time with the Police Department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 2005, and to Lieutenant in 2013.  He is the recipient of one Unit Citation and one Meritorious Police Service Award.  He is a graduate of St. John’s University, where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice.

Lieutenant Craig Largmann was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 1998.  During his time with the Police Department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, Juvenile Aid Bureau, and, most recently, has been assigned to the F.B.I. Joint Terrorist Task Force.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 2015.  He is the recipient of thirteen Excellent Police Service Awards and one Unit Citation.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, with a minor in Criminology from Montclair State University.

Lieutenant Michael Kubert, Jr. was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 1998.  During his time in the Police Department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 2015.  He is the recipient of ten Excellent Police Service Awards, three Commendations, two Meritorious Police Service Awards, and one Valor Award.  He has also been honored with both a New Jersey Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association and Hudson County 200 Club Valor Award for bravery in the line of duty.  The Bayonne Police Emerald Society and the Bayonne Knights of Columbus have both honored him as their Police Officer of the Year.

Sergeant William Petersen was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 1994.  During his time with the department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, the Traffic Enforcement Unit, and Technical Services.  He was assigned previously assigned to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Municipal Task Force, the Hudson County Gang Task Force, the Essex/Union County Auto Theft Task Force, and served previously as a member of the Hudson County Rapid Deployment Force.  He is a founding member of the Bayonne Police Pipes and Drums, and is the group’s current Pipe Major.   He is the recipient of four Excellent Police Service Awards and a Valiant Teamwork Award from the 200 Club of Hudson County.

Sergeant Drew Raslowsky was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 2002.  During his time with the department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Vice Unit.  He is the recipient of four Excellent Police Service Awards, two Commendations, and one Unit Citation.

Sergeant Eugene Urbanowicz was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 2002.  During his time with the Police Department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division.  He has served as the department’s K-9 handler for the last fourteen years.  He serves currently as a member of Hudson County Rapid Deployment Force, and serves as a Task Force Officer with Homeland Security Investigations. He is the recipient of four Excellent Police Service Awards, two Meritorious Police Service Awards, and one Commendation.

Sergeant Joseph Era was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 1997.  During his time with the Police Department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, the Community Oriented Policing Unit, and the Vice Unit.  Sergeant Era is the recipient of twelve Excellent Police Service Awards, four Commendations, one Meritorious Police Service Award, and one Unit Citation.

Sergeant Richard Killmer was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department  in 2012.  During his time with the Police Department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Community Oriented Policing Unit. At Fairleigh Dickinson University, he earned a degree in Sociology, with a minor in Criminal Justice.  He is the recipient of two Excellent Police Service Awards and serves currently as the Sergeant-at-Arms for the Bayonne Police Emerald Society.

Sergeant Kelly McKeand was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 1999.  Before joining the police force, she served as a Public Safety Telecommunicator.  As a police officer, she has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Bureau of Criminal Identification.  She is an active member of Mid-Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement, New Jersey Women in Law Enforcement, and the Gay Officers Action League. She serves as the department’s liaison to the Hudson Pride Center.  She is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at Bergen County Community College.  She is the recipient of eight Excellent Police Service Awards, one Commendation, and one Unit Citation.

Sergeant Daniel Murphy was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 2013.  Before joining the Police Department, he spent four years in the Patrol Division with the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.  During his time with the Police Department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau.  He is the recipient of four Excellent Police Service Awards and one Unit Citation.  He has also received the Outstanding Law Enforcement Professional Award from the Detectives Crime Clinic of New Jersey and New York.

Sergeant Timothy Donaway was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 2001.  During his time with the department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the A.B.C./Licensing Unit.  He is the recipient of three Excellent Police Service Awards and one Meritorious Police Service Award.  He is a certified firearms instructor with the Police Training Commission.

Sergeant Sean McCarry was appointed to the Bayonne Police Department in 1997.  During his time with the department, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, the Community Oriented Policing Unit, the Street Crimes Unit, the Auto Theft Division, the Night Detective Bureau, and the Property and Evidence Unit.  He is a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he earned a degree in Architecture.  He is the recipient of seventeen Excellent Police Service Awards, three Commendations, and one Meritorious Police Service Award.  He is a founding and current member of the Bayonne Police Pipes and Drums.  He was recognized with a Valor Award from the 200 Club of Hudson County for bravery in the line of duty.  The Bayonne Police Emerald Society has honored him as its Cop of the Year.
