Montclair Man Arrested, Charged With Sexual Assault Which Happened Last September at Secaucus Hotel

A Montclair man is facing charges of sexual assault following an incident that occurred at a hotel in Secaucus last September 10, 2022.  According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the suspect, 25-year old Fokam Parfait, was arrested yesterday at the Bergen County Jail.

According to Suarez, the 28-year old victim, whose gender has not been revealed, suffered head and facial injuries at a hotel on Meadowlands Parkway.   The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was notified of the assault on March 30, 2023.

The Prosecutor says the victim met the assailant through an online dating app.  The victim was not able to escape from the hotel room during the assault.

Parfait faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, a first degree crime; aggravated assault, a second degree crime; and kidnapping, a first degree crime.  He remains housed at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack.  The State has filed a Motion for Detention in this matter, which is tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 1, 2023.
