32-year old, Bayonne resident Elizabeth Schindler of West 24th Street has been arrested by Bayonne Police for an incident which took place early on Sunday morning. According to Bayonne Police Captain Eric Amato, Schindler was taken in to custody at 12:45 am from the area of East 21st Street.
According to Captain Amato, officers responded to the area on a report of a female punching vehicles. Officers located Schindler and began to conduct an investigation. Throughout the investigation, Schindler refused to cooperate and continually shouted at a nearby male victim.
According to the victim, after he observed her punching his vehicle, he confronted her. During the confrontation, an argument ensued and Schindler pushed over the victim’s parked motorcycle. Officers then placed Schindler under arrest and attempted to place her in handcuffs, but she resisted arrest by pulling her arms to her chest.
Eventually the officers were able to secure her in handcuffs and, as she was handcuffed, she proceeded to kick a police officer multiple times. She was additionally charged with the assault.
Schindler faces the following charges:
- Aggravated Assault (on a LEO)
- Criminal Mischief
- Resisting Arrest
- Obstructing a Governmental Function
