Una mujer de Bayona gravemente herida en un accidente de coche mortal el sábado por la noche

Photo Credit:  Jennifer Romero for Daily Voice                                                                                                                                                                                             A 32-year old Bayonne woman was seriously injured last night in a fatal car crash in Tenafly which claimed the life of a 19-year old, male driver from Tenafly.  The Daily Voice was the first to report the horrific accident, which happened just before 10 pm on Knickerbocker Road near Columbus Drive.  Two back seat passengers, one man and one woman, both age 20, were also seriously injured.

According to Tenafly Police, the Bayonne woman had to be cut our of the passenger seat with the Jaws of Life after the Sedan slammed into a tree and totally destroyed the car.

One of the injured, backseat passengers was able to flag down a police car.  The name of the driver, who died at the scene, was not immediately released.  The three passengers were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment.

Tenafly police and firefighters, along with the borough’s Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Dumont Fire Rescue, were among the first responders.

Tenafly Police are investigating, along with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Fatal Accident Investigations Unit, the Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification, the latter collecting evidence.
