Belleville Man Arrested in Bayonne’s Woodmont Bay Club For Burglary & Receiving Stolen Property

23-year old Andres Vasquez of Dewitt Avenue in Belleville, New Jersey was arrested just after midnight this morning by Bayonne Police.  According to Captain Eric Amato, Vasquez was taken into custody at the Woodmont Bay Club Apartments, located at 190 West 54th Street.

According to Captain Amato, officers responded to the residential building on a report of a male, who had no authority to be inside the building.   He was found sleeping inside of a second floor bathroom. As officers responded to the bathroom, they were met with a locked door and a male, later identified as Vasquez, refusing to open the door.

After police made several commands to open the door, Vasquez complied and exited the bathroom. During the on-scene investigation, Amato says officers recovered a Tesla key fob in Vasquez’s possession, as well as a female designer wrist watch. Vasquez could not provide a justification for being inside the complex or for possessing the items.

After the owner of the Tesla, which was located parked in the garage, was contacted, it was determined that Vasquez had no permission from the vehicle owner to possess the key fob.

Vasquez has been charged with burglary and receiving stolen property.
