For the 40th year in a row, the Brian P. Stack Civic Association will hold its annual, children’s toy giveaway tomorrow, Saturday, December 19, although it will be a bit different than in years’ past due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Instead of holding the event indoors at several local schools, tomorrow’s giveaway is taking place OUTDOORS. The locations are as follows:
- From 10 am until 1 pm at the Edison School downtown at 507 West Street and at the Washington School on New York Avenue.
- Between 2 and 5 pm at the Robert Waters School. The school is located at 2800 Summit Avenue, and at the Colin Powell School on 15th Street.
The toy giveaway is open to all Union City school children, ten years of age and younger. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Social distancing will be observed and participants are required to wear a mask. Parents are asked to go to the school closest to their home.
The Civic Association reminds residents that the toys were not paid for using taxpayer money.
