County Census Event With Food Truck in Bayonne on Sunday, September 27

Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the County of Hudson will be sponsoring a Census 2020 countdown party in Bayonne on Sunday, September 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Kopcinski Park, by 19th Street and Broadway.  The Bayonne event co-sponsor is the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF). The event will feature a Corn Guys food truck that will offer free meals to the first 150 households that complete the census at the event.  Meal vouchers are limited to 150, so come early.  Other participants can purchase food and soft drinks. The Corn Guys will offer grilled corn, hot dogs, and sodas.

Mayor Davis said, “This event will give Bayonne residents who have not been counted in the census an opportunity to do so, along with a nice meal from a food truck.  Those who have been counted already in the census can come to buy good American food as we celebrate Census 2020.”  Mayor Davis continued, “I would like to thank the Hudson County government and the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF) for co-sponsoring this Census 2020 countdown party in Bayonne.  I hope that numerous Bayonne residents will take advantage of this opportunity to be counted in Census 2020.  We want all of our residents to be in the census before September 30.”

The Bayonne food truck event is one of twelve that the county is sponsoring in each Hudson County municipality before the census deadline of September 30.

The Bayonne food truck event will happen rain or shine.  The county will provide three tents for cover.  There will be ten stand-up tables for those who want a place to eat on-site.

Face masks and social distancing will be required at the event.

Event partners include Hudson County 2020 Census, the BEOF, the City of Bayonne, U.S. Census 2020, New Jersey Census 2020, the Act Now Foundation, Women Rising, and the New Jersey Coalition of Latino Pastors and Ministers.
