He already has a Hudson County park named in his honor.  Now a sculpture will be placed in that park  after the Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved a Hudson County Cultural and Heritage Affairs / Tourism Department contract with Sculptor J. Brett Grill .  The contract will provide a three dimensional, bronze sculpture of Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Stephen R. Gregg to be permanently installed in Bayonne’s Stephen R. Gregg Hudson County Park.  The sculpture will be erected on the eastern edge of Stephen R. Gregg Hudson County Park adjacent to John F. Kennedy Blvd at 43rd Street.

Grill is an accomplished artist and sculptor who has completed numerous public art sculptures, including most recently in 2020, a statue of President Gerald R. Ford at Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The sculpture is being funded in accordance with the County Executive’s Order, 1% Fund for Public Art.
