Fecha fijada para la audiencia pública del "Plan Interior" del Parque Estatal Liberty

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will hold a virtual public hearing on October 20 beginning at 6 pm on its proposal to remediate 234, interior acres of contaminated land which are currently fenced off to the public.

The DEP says designs for the area are approximately 30 percent completed.  During the virtual public hearing, the state will present its preliminary designs, giving the public a chance to make comments.  During a briefing held in September, the DEP gave an overview of the interior property and its view for the restoration of wetlands.  The state envisions paths and trails being constructed, with passive recreation sites added to the park’s current design of open space.

The broad vision outlined by the state has generated much discussion among various community groups, all with their own hopes for the interior property.

Anyone wishing to attend or comment during the virtual public hearing on October 20 must register in advance by October 15.  You can do so by visiting the following link: njdepcalendar.com/calendar/events/index.php?com=detail&eID=654.

After registering, you will receive further instructions from the DEP.
