Early Easter Morning Shooting in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora have announced that at approximately 12:09 this morning, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Broadway and Summer Street on a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, members of the Paterson Police Department located a 20-year-old male, Paterson resident who sustained multiple, non-fatal gunshot wounds.

The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.  A short time later members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 20-year-old male, Haledon, New Jersey resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed the victims were in the area of Godwin Avenue and Summer Street in Paterson when the shooting occurred.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
