East Windsor Man Arrested By Bayonne Police For Stealing Car Nearly 7 Weeks Ago

20-year old, Alnor S. Hills-Harris of Garden Terrace in East Windsor, New Jersey has been arrested by Bayonne Police for auto theft, according to Captain Eric Amato.  Hills-Harris was taken into custody at 1:23 pm on Tuesday afternoon from Police Headquarters after being identified as the actor of a motor vehicle theft that occurred on June 4 at 1:10 in the morning.

Captain Amato says, on that date, officers responded to the area of Linden Street and Avenue A on a report of an unoccupied overturned vehicle.  According to the 51-year old victim of Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne, after returning home from shopping, the keys to the vehicle were accidentally left in the lock of the trunk.  At 1:06 am, she heard her vehicle start and an unknown person had driven the car away.

While she was reviewing video from her home cctv, the vehicle, after being removed from her driveway, can be seen traveling onto Linden Street where it strikes a parked vehicle, causing the stolen vehicle to overturn.  The driver is then seen walking west toward Avenue A.

An investigation into the theft led to Hills-Harris being identified as the actor.

Bayonne Police charged him with motor vehicle theft.
