On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, a fatal stabbing occurred in Union City, New Jersey, involving five juveniles. According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, a 16-year-old Union City male has been arrested and charged as a juvenile in connection with the incident. He faces charges of Armed Robbery in the first degree, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery in the first degree, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (a stick) in the fourth degree, and Possession of a Weapon (a stick) for an Unlawful Purpose in the third degree.

Three other juveniles have also been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. A 16-year-old Union City male has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (a knife) in the fourth degree, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (a knife) in the third degree, and Possession of a Weapon (a knife) While Committing a CDS Offense in the second degree. A 15-year-old Jersey City female and a 15-year-old Jersey City male have been charged with Armed Robbery in the first degree, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery in the first degree, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (a stick) in the fourth degree, and Possession of a Weapon (a stick) for an Unlawful Purpose in the third degree.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, the altercation leading up to the stabbing involved all five juveniles. The incident occurred at approximately 6:24 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, when the Union City Police Department was notified of a stabbing in the area of 40th Street and New York Avenue. Responding officers found two juvenile males, Allen Flores (15 years old, of Union City) and a 16-year-old Union City male, with apparent stab wounds in the area of 40th Street and Bergenline Avenue. Flores was transported to Christ Hospital in Jersey City, where he was pronounced dead at 7:08 p.m. The second juvenile was treated at Jersey City Medical Center for serious injuries and has since been released.
