Gang Task Force Recovers Handgun & Marijuana Following Months-Long Investigation

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced this afternoon that members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Task Force arrested a 43-year-old man and recovered a handgun following a months-long investigation on Monday, June 26th.

According to Suarez, Jersey City resident Farrakhan Williams has been charged with possession of a weapon while committing a controlled dangerous substance offense; possession with the intent to distribute marijuana; unlawful possession of a weapon; and certain persons not to possess a weapon.

Williams was arrested at his residence on Danforth Avenue and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny pending his first court appearance.

Prosecutor Suarez stated in a release that during the early morning hours of Monday, June 26, 2023, the Gang Task Force, with assistance from the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team, executed a court-authorized search warrant of Williams’ apartment.  The search resulted in the seizure of a handgun and over 270 grams of suspected marijuana.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
