After winning in a clean sweep on Election Night last Tuesday, West New York Mayor-elect Albio Sires and his four Commissioners-elect will take their oaths of office during a public ceremony in front of Town Hall on 60th Street at 2 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon, May 16.
After retiring from Congress following a 15-year stint, Sires will return to the office he held in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Mayor-elect also served as the first Hispanic to hold the position of New Jersey Assembly Speaker.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy will administer the oath of office to Sires immediately following the swearing in of Commissioners-elect Victor Barrera, the lone incumbent returning to office, former Board of Education President Adam Parkinson, former Board of Education Trustee Marielka Diaz and Marcos Arroyo.
Members of the general public are invited to attend the ceremony.
