Hoboken anuncia actualizaciones sobre proyectos de calidad de vida

The City of Hoboken and the Office of Mayor Ravi Bhalla have announced a series of updates on numerous construction and infrastructure projects.  The following press released was issued on Tuesday:

Community: Update on Quality of Life Projects Including Northwest Resiliency Park, Flood Infrastructure, NHSA Pumping Station

The City of Hoboken is continuing this week with upgrades to the 5-acre Northwest Resiliency Park, North Hudson Sewerage Authority pumping station, flood infrastructure, and utility maintenance by SUEZ.

Northwest Resiliency Park

Construction continues on the 5-acre Northwest Resiliency Park, which will be New Jersey’s largest resiliency park. The park will have above and below ground infrastructure to withhold up to 2 million gallons of rainwater to help mitigate local flooding. The contractor will undertake the following activities next week:

• Reemplazo completo del tanque de un millón de galones.

• Continúe la construcción del campo deportivo multiuso con la instalación de la cubierta de césped.
• Comience a formar las bases para la muralla de escalada.

The City uses a combination of low interest and interest-free loans, principal forgiveness for the resiliency features, and grant money to save over $19 million over the life of the project. The Northwest Resiliency Park also utilizes the Open Space Trust Fund to pay for the construction costs of the Northwest Park, and is not utilizing any funding from the 2020 municipal budget.

NHSA H6/H7 Combined Sewer Overflow Long Term Control Plan, Phase I Project

The North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA) is constructing a pumping station on the Northwest Resiliency Park site and associated sewer infrastructure in and around the site to reduce combined sewer overflow events in the H6/H7 sewershed. The project includes but is not limited to the installation of piles, excavation, demolition of existing sewer pipe and structures, and installation of new sewer pipe and precast structures in the roadway of 13^th Street between Adams Street and Madison Street. The contractor will undertake the following activities next week:

• Finaliza el monitoreo del aire, el polvo, el ruido y las vibraciones en el sitio de construcción. Esto se instalará dentro del sitio del Parque de Resiliencia del Noroeste, así como a lo largo de la calle 13, la calle Adams y la calle Jefferson.

Traffic Management

La intersección de la calle 13 y la calle Jefferson será incluida en el cierre. El cierre no afectará a las intersecciones de Adams Street y Madison Street con la calle 13.
