HOBOKEN, NJ – The Hoboken Community Center (HCC) has named Angela Sullivan, a seasoned nonprofit leader with over 25 years of experience in health and human services, as its new Executive Director. The appointment signals a significant step forward for the organization as it seeks to expand its community programs and impact.
Ken Nilsen, President of the Board of Directors, highlighted the importance of Sullivan’s appointment. “With our growing mission and impact, this is a pivotal moment for the Hoboken Community Center,” Nilsen said. “Up to this point, our work has been largely led by an all-volunteer board, supported by a small but dedicated staff and hundreds of local volunteers. Bringing on an experienced executive like Angela ensures we have the leadership capacity to sustain and strengthen our mission for years to come.
”Sullivan brings extensive expertise to the role, having held leadership positions at SAGE Eldercare and New York–Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She also contributed to statewide efforts at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, where she helped enhance the operations of food banks and pantries across the state.Expressing her enthusiasm for the role, Sullivan said, “It is a privilege to join the Hoboken Community Center and lead an organization with a deep commitment to serving the community. I look forward to working with HCC’s Board, partners, and supporters to build on its mission to offer access to affordable housing, address food insecurity, and revitalize the historic YMCA building – ensuring that community members have the resources and opportunities they need.
”The Hoboken Community Center, known for its work in addressing local needs, is poised for growth under Sullivan’s leadership as it continues to serve the community through vital programs and initiatives.
