Thanksgiving has passed, so it’s time to begin your holiday shopping.  The City of Hoboken encourages everyone to shop local, supporting small businesses in the Mile Square City which, as with all hometown mom and pop stores have suffered due to the COVID pandemic.

In an effort to entice shoppers to visit Hoboken’s shops, the city has announced it is offering discounted parking beginning tomorrow, small business Saturday.  Here are the details announced this morning by City Hall and the Hoboken Business Alliance:

Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla, the Hoboken City Council, and the Hoboken Business Alliance are pleased to offer discount parking beginning on Small Business Saturday, to facilitate socially distanced shopping and dining. Hoboken residents and visitors are able to park in municipal parking garages at a rate of $5 for four hours. The $5 parking rate applies to Garage B (28 2nd St), Garage D (215 Hudson St), and Midtown Garage (371 4th St), and will take place every Saturday through the months of November and December, including November 28, December 5, 12, 19 and 26.

“We are thrilled to see the City supporting our businesses by providing parking incentives for consumers to shop in Hoboken,” said Greg Dell’Aquila, President of the Hoboken Business Alliance. “This should be a great opportunity for all businesses and customers. Thank you to Mayor Bhalla and the City Council for this initiative.”
