Bayonne Police arrested 19-year old Rashadee C. Boxley of Monticello Avenue in Jersey City at 3:47 on Monday morning on burglary and theft charges. According to Capt. Eric Amato, Boxley was taken into custody near 54th Street and Avenue B after officers observed him walk into a residential driveway on West 54th Street and enter an unlocked Honda minivan.
Police saw the suspect rummage through the vehicle, opening closed compartments. Boxley then exited the parked minivan when officers confronted him.
Capt. Amato says police then conducted an on-scene investigation which led to the discovery of loose change which Boxley allegedly had removed from the vehicle.
During their search and arrest process, police also learned that Boxley had entered another vehicle, a Subaru Forester, on Avenue B. A search of that vehicle found that items had been strewn around. The owner of the Forester confirmed to police that nothing had been stolen.
Police also learned that Boxley was wanted on warrants issued from the Bayonne Municipal Court and the Hudson County Superior Court.
He is currently being held in the Hudson County Jail, charged with two counts of burglary, one count of theft and two warrants.
