Jersey City Man Arrested for Involvement in Fatal Shooting of Khaliq Lockett

On December 30, 2022, Eddie Webb, a 43-year-old man from Jersey City, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Khaliq Lockett, which occurred on December 25, 2022.

According to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, Webb is charged with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He was taken into custody at his place of employment and is currently being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility, pending his first court appearance.

The incident occurred at around 6:04 p.m. on December 25, when the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a shooting in the area of Communipaw Avenue and Crescent Avenue. Responding officers found Lockett, 46, with gunshot wounds to the torso. He was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:51 p.m.
